Welcome to Frabjous Day Press!

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

—”Jabberwocky” by Lewis Carroll

If you’re looking for unique stories, you’ve come to the right place.

Ever since one of my teachers in middle school took us through a deep literary analysis of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, showing us how so much of the “nonsensical” writings actually make perfect sense, Lewis Carroll’s writings have been an inspiration to me. Specifically, I’ve been influenced by his unique whimsical narratives and the way he uses words (and makes up new ones!).

And so Frabjous Day Press was born, the hub for my many writings.

I’m E.J. Robison, a freelance writer/editor/book coach, self-published author, and all-around storyteller. I’ve been writing stories for over 20 years with works ranging from lighthearted fantasy adventures and fairytale retellings to sci-fi whodunnits and flash fiction of all kinds. I run the website The Story Canvas, a place for writers who want to learn how to create meaningful stories.

I used to post my stories on the same site, but I recently realised that my stories needed a home separate from my articles on the craft of writing. Frabjous Day Press is that home! I’ve already started uploading the stories from my other site, and once that’s finished I’ll start updating with new stories every week.

In the meantime, please pardon my dust as I continue to work on the site! Construction is still ongoing, so don’t be surprised if you see things that look a little wacky.

In the meantime, you can enjoy the stories I’m posting!

Happy reading!
—E.J.

Always optional, but always appreciated! As a full-time self-employed freelancer, the stories I write here are created purely out of love. If you like what you read, a donation is the perfect way to say “Thank you!” Currently, every penny goes towards improving my self-publishing process so I can publish more books for you to enjoy. This includes buying writing/publishing software, hiring designers and marketers, and acquiring new materials like a desk, room divider, and desk treadmill.
